Franz - I need to read the listings better!

Post by sgs4u » Wed Jan 17, 2007 10:28 am

I need to read the listings better! I've had 2 forwards out of about 50 submissions. Library listings - who knows? One for Jazz # Y061114JZ An LA-based Music Library seeks CONTEMPORARY JAZZ SONGS & INSTRUMENTALS a la Norah Jones, Cassandra Wilson, Chris Biotti, Tony Bennett, Madeleine Peyroux, Gerlad Albright, Diana Krall, Wynton Marsalis, etc. for film/TV/a/video game placement. The company has been in biz for about a year and already has had placements on ABC, NBC, and HBO as well as films distributed by Disney, Warner Bros., and Trimark. You must own all of your song’s licensing/pub. rights and have release forms for any & all performers on your recording [if you hired studio musicians, for example]. They offer a non-exclusive deal. The company’s owner will screen your submissions. If you were forwarded for #Y060510TV or Y060811TV, do not submit the same material. Broadcast quality needed [excellent home recordings are OK]. and one forward for this: R&B # S061201RB Current-sounding R&B/NEO-SOUL SONGS & INSTRMENTALS a la Usher, Jill Scott, Chris Brown, Rihanna, John Legend, Beyonce, etc. are needed by a new LA-based Music Library being started by veterans of that industry. Great vocals and instrumental performances are essential - this company is very selective in what & who they sign. Male or female vocals are OK. No lyrical restrictions - all themes are OK. They offer a non-exclusive, 50/50 split deal - you keep your original copyrights. Broadcast quality needed. http://www.broadjam.com/steveagilbert the songs that were forwarded are:Listening to the Blues, and Some Day Soon.So your inability to clearly understand the listings, pales in comparison to my own (expensive) ineptitude. Thankfully, I have no problem being the one who has a lot to learn about Taxi. Staying curious is easy for me. Hopefully I can maintain polite when I want to scream.
