Funky Monkey (Unfinished)

Post by ernstinen » Sat Apr 30, 2011 6:06 am

Hey All,

I've been inspired by Mazz cranking out the funk tunes, so I laid down this track (working title "Funky Monkey").

It now is crying for a slapping bass and a serious horn section, maybe even a real sax solo. Just tryin' to get my groove on so far!

Any thoughts are welcome! --- This was a quick demo, so keep that in mind ---

Best Regards,

Ern 8-) :)

Curious, Do you plan to keep it in the same genre and time period or add some contemporary elements?

:?: Do you plan to collaborate on this piece?

Might be funky, but BORING... BORING ... BORING! NEEDS: Horns, B.G.vocals, percussion, poppin' funk bass etc. etc. Embarrassing as is --- Sorry! Can't believe I posted this in such a raw state, but that's how it goes sometimes!

Sounds like a good starting place. A couple of things I'd suggest knowing that this is just a starting place for ya. I'd speed it up.....Definitely another 10 BPM on top of what you got, also the intro is way too long....and also way too long before the first change.....But as a "stake in the ground" it's a nice starting point. Be interesting to see where you take it from here... Yea lots of wah guitar...sax......yea man. Go for it Ern. Post it up when you get further along...

Admit it. You don't want to build on this. You want to start something new

Great feel bud

I do, I do, I do! (Cowardly Lion).

When I get my new desk which will hold all my sample computers, monitors, new iMac, keyboards, and racks of gear, I'll be sequencing some great stuff to finish up all of the projects I've started. Since I moved, I've been recording everything in real time, playing everything manually! My ProTools 'puter can only handle about 10 tracks, so that's what I've been limited to. An excuse, but true! I can't count on my hands the many occasions I've said "This is a f***in' WASTE OF TIME!" But not really; all seeds of ideas can and will grow into something beautiful (or obnoxious, as the case may be! ).

Best Regards,

Ern 8-) :)
