I spent 3 hours with Geoff at dinner last night. Wow!!!! Incredibly nice man, great stories, and we spent a great deal of time talking about studio/artist/production stuff. Truly one of the best nights of my life. Rob Chiarelli joined us, and we were like two kids in a candy store. The folks coming to the Rally are in for a once in a lifetime treat when they get to hear Geoff interviewed live. All I can say is wow!
Geoff was 15 years old when he was the assistant engineer on the first Beatles' hits, and only 19 years old when he become their first engineer. What a life. What a legacy! So many techniques pioneered by him.
I just found out about Geoff being at the RR! I'm about half way through his amazing book!! I am really looking forward to hearing him, what an amazing story!
I just finished Geoff's book: brilliant! My guest for the rally just finished playing the John Lennon role on Broadway in Let It Be. He is amazing speaking and singing like Lennon. We are both very excited about seeing Mr. Emerick.
I head his book shortly after he released it while on a train to Chicago. It was so good, I am sure I'll read it again. I would recommend reading the first Mixerman book if you liked Geoff's. Anyways, I'm bummed I missed seeing him in person. I just became a member last week. MIKE, PLEASE BRING HIM BACK AGAIN!!! lol.
