getting feedback

Post by cliffrubinmusic » Mon Feb 22, 2010 10:08 am

I read in one of the taxi newsletters that getting feedback on a song through the forum was very helpful. Where exactly would I upload that song for folks to hear it and critique it?

If you're a Taxi member you get your own space to do that (call Taxi for the info). If you're not a Taxi member, you'll have to host your music somewhere and provide a link to it.

I am a taxi member. So, I just post a link here to the song and folks tell me what they think?

Yeah, but just remember the people at TAXI who listen to your songs are EXPERTS in that genre. You'll get very good feedback here, but again, the ones deciding are experts.

Put the song in peer to peer section for members review here at the forum. On taxi's homepage you will find the costume critique done by a taxi screener for 20 dollar (It's to the right in the blue field).

Perhaps we'd better define some terms; when you submit for a listing ($5 submission fee) you get a Taxi screener's (industry expert) review on a form with specific info about your song and how it fits the listing. (or not) Some listings do not provide this feedback. (usually, this means the listing party is in a hurry) Peer review in the forum is free to anyone who participates, and provided by (volunteer) fellow artists and writers (some of whom swing a mighty big bat, themselves) and it's suggested that you pay it forward by reviewing the work of others, particularly in your genre(s). An 'in-depth' custom critique ($20) from one of Taxi's experts can be requested on any song regardless of listing by any Taxi member, and is particularly helpful if you have specific questions about a song or track and/or have received conflicting feedback from other sources.
