Google topic notifications????
Does anybody know if there's away to get a notification email from google when someone places information about a certain topic on any web page.As in I'm releasing a new CD, and sent it out for reviews a couple of months ago (about 50 places worldwide) and would like to catch reviews as soon as they are out, to use for marketing tools. With the spider engines of google it takes time to move them up the ladder, and the searches are very time consuming.Any help in this department will be greatly appreciated.ThanksDave

Google has an Alert widget where you can put in search terms and it will send you emails about any news, events etc regarding that topic. Here's a link:http://www.google.com/alertsHope this helps

Nothing like the direct approach... I've always found a personal follow up by you is the best way and usually much appreciated by those doing the reviews. Also, providing a link from your website to the reviewer site once it is posted is always a class act.Good luck!

Gus, Thanks! I think that will help. I signed up and I will see. I'm confused as to the top 20 results as it seems it will still have to work it's way through the spider situation. The more hits the further it goes up, so it could be on for a month, before it goes to top 20. Thanks much!Dave

Quote:I've always found a personal follow up by you is the best way and usually much appreciated by those doing the reviews. It'a a little too early to contact them. Past experiences show me it takes up to 6 months to get reviews, and a lot of the review submissions state something to the effect of " please, don't call us, we'll write it, when we get to it."And I always get permission to use quotes from their copy written reviews, and then add a link.ThanksDave

Okay...I'm just relating what has worked for me and I've generated literally thousands of reviews from every corner of the globe in the last eleven years on the internet on our three CDs...So I have a little past experience to draw on as well...
