Got a forward on my first ever submitted song!
Really excited, I figured I'd share the news!
How often does a forwarded song get actually used?

Re: Got a forward on my first ever submitted song!
Congratulations! How about posting a link to the song?
Whether a song gets used, or whether you'll even hear from the listing party, is unpredictable. I've heard back as much as 3 or more years after the submission, and as little as a few weeks. You just never know if or when it might happen. Better to just keep writing and submitting.
May this be the first of many more to come!

Congrats!!
You never know if or when a forward will lead to a contact. Sometimes nothing happens ever, sometimes you get contacted within weeks or months, sometimes you get contacted in a few years.
It's not at all uncommon to have a song forwarded and never be contacted. A forward is a pitch with a recommendation from a good source. Sometimes you have what the listing party needs, sometimes not.
All you can do is keep writing and submitting.
Best of luck!
Casey

Wow! I'm not an expert on dub step, but it sounded great to me.

Really cool track, great energy. Your question about how often a song get used after forwarded: I think you'll find the answer to this varied. The moral of the story seems to be the mantra, "write, submit, forget, repeat". It seems a song can get forwarded, and then it lands in a pool of other forwarded material. From there, it needs to be chosen as a song that will be either signed by a production library, or agency, or used by a music supervisor or something along those lines. From there, possibly, it could be a few years until it is used in broadcast, for example. Some advertising agency turn-arounds may be a lot quicker. In the end, how often it gets used is a crap-shoot, it could be once, or hundreds. Those are just a few ideas, and there are a lot of other scenarios. That's not really an answer to your question, but it's a start.
