Here's a direct recording of my '63 Strat through a Tech 21 CompTortion. It's a little Hendrix intro, slowed down, with all the warts showing!
Settings on the CompTortion: Level: cranked --- Tone: 3 o'clock --- Distortion: 10 o'clock --- Compression: 10 o'clock.
This pedal is NOT a great distortion pedal, IMHO, but it IS useful for direct recordings of clean guitar sounds. I used the neck pickup.
I added just a bit of stereo reverb from a Lexicon MX200, recorded into ProTools, with nothing else added.
