Hey Suz - Hail to the Queen of Quirky! Great humor in this piece. Congratulations! A well deserved forward...Now I know why you like the accordion. Do you actually play one too? Reminded me of my accordion lessons as a kid - my teacher used to bring his banjo. No wonder everyone in the house was laughing at me .Say "Hi" to Spike Jones for me - and watch out for that banana peel!Al

Thanks, I-468, Al and B - Flat (LOVE the Avatar, BTW! I'm actually related to Boris Karloff, so have a fondness for that dear Frankenstein face).Al, what a great story about childhood accordion lessons with a banjo teacher. What a hoot! Weird Al would be proud. Do you still play accordion? It's next on my list of instruments to teach myself (am tinkering with my new electric ukulele right now). In the meanwhile, thank goodness for MIDI!!And speaking of Spike Jones (one of my heroes), I have a hankering next to do some kind of off the wall version of "Holiday for Strings." Haven't decided what instruments yet, though. Am leaning towards ukulele for some of the lead. Anyone have suggestions/ ideas?? Thanks! This forum is the COOLEST PLACE TO BE -- and YOUSE GUYS are the BEST-EST COMPOSING COHORTS EVER! (ok, I'll stop shouting now.)Suz

Re: Hail to Chief Foward
I once heard a guy do an expertly improvised rendition of a jazz standard on a penny whistle. Hmmm......Or, you could use a library of well tuned "boing" sounds and call it "Holiday for Springs". What d'ya think? Yeh, worthless....Al

Bwahaha! That is too funny! And would make a good music video to boot.I was actually thinking of penny whistle and ukulele for Holiday for Strings, but after listening to your Accordion songs, I'm wondering if that might be a fun thing to try. Hmmm . . . .going to ponder that.Meanwhile, thanks for the ideas!Suz

Oh, dear. I thought I had been de-throned when the polka squad took over the Queendom of Avante Garde music in the Be-Bop Revolution of the Mezzo-zoic era . . . You mean I'm still queen? Cool! Do I get to wear the Pope's hat and have people kiss my ring? Yee-HAH!Thanks for the mirthful high-fivery, my most favorite sitar-playing genius. I hereby dub thee: Knight of the highest order of Taxi- Forum- Funnery and Musical Mayhem-ery of all the lands . . . Hugs,Suz

Congrats Suze,...this should be the preferred version, used on all formal occasions. Thanks for sharing the mechanics on how you put this together. Derek

Re: Hail to Chief Foward
that's a great track you got there Suz! If Weird Al ever got elected for president, they could use this as his theme song when he gets parodied on the Frank TV show Congrats!- Big Blue
