Heartbreak- for Olympics listing

Post by jamesolszewski » Tue Aug 05, 2008 5:53 am

Hello again all.I just finished reading the "The Difficulty of Reviewing" thread. So, in the spirit of being specific, my latest posting for comments:http://www.taxi.com/jamesolszewski"Heartbreak"I'm submitting this song to the following listing, and I'd like to know how well (or not) you think it fits the listing.OLYMPIC DEFEAT/HEARTBREAK INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a great Production Music Library/Publisher that has signed tons of TAXI members over the years, and has made money for many of them. Think of lush, orchestral pieces that play under the heartbreaking slow mo replays (over and over again). Tracks should ideally run between :60 and 3 minutes in length.... TAXI #Y080822TVIs it too sad? Too dark? Too sparse? Just okay? Totally perfect? Doesn't go anywhere (or is that okay)? To tell you the truth, I know the listing asks for "lush" orchestral pieces, but I just couldn't bring myself to do "lush". When I'm heartbroken the score in my head isn't lush. So that may get me in trouble, I suppose. I was just visualizing slow-mo replays of a sprinter taking a header and getting all scraped up. Nice, I know. Well, whatever gets me there.

James,I think it fits nicely myself. I can picture what you're picturing, with the sprinter and all. I've heard similar music to slow mo replays, so I think it'll work. But then that's just my opinion. I-468

very nice piece James.... while it lacks some in the development of the theme, the impact is felt in the loneliness from the minimalist approach. In other words, I would love to hear a 4 minute version! If it doesn't forward for the olympics theme, I'm sure that there are tv/film listings you could score with.

Thanks zoom and Jeff. And yes, I'd totally love to do a longer version of this piece, as time permits!

I agree ....definitely works for slo-mo and defeat! The sparse arrangement works for this listing.
