Heiwa no Yume- Dream of Peace- Japanese instrumental forward
Thank you, screener 396, for your kind words. I absorbed Japanese music structure and form starting when I was two years old, living next door to neighbors from Hokkaido and listening to their radio. Honolulu was a melting pot of world music and I was a musical sponge! After my dad was transferred back to the mainland, we still kept listening to world music, and he brought home music from many countries, including Japan. I'm really grateful that I was never limited to western music structure, even though I grew up listening to everything from classical to country/western, pop, rock, jazz, blues, etc.
After I fell on Christmas Day and broke my wrist trying to help my mom up after she fell, I put out an SOS on the collaborator's corner, and fellow TAXI member Stewart McLellan stepped up to help me with the instrumentation. Stewart made it sound even better than my first attempts, and I'm delighted to have collaborated with him on this piece.
This forward was the best piece of news I'd had all year (and what a blessing that it came on what turned out to be such a difficult day)! Now I'm writing some more Japanese short pieces, in case the library signs "Heiwa no Yume" and wants more.
Thank you again!!

Thank you for all the kind words, everyone! Akira, Tom, Mark, and Sayako!
lol Mark. I also grew up living close to Mexico for a while and absorbed a lot of that, too!
Arigato, Sayako-san! I used to sing along with our Japanese folk music record. Shina no Yoru, Momotaro-san, Sakura... if only I could remember all the words! I love playing Sakura on my Celtic Harp!
Happily working on a new piece called Shizukana Teien 静かな庭園, Tranquil Garden.
Thanks again!

Delighted to meet you, too, Sayako-san!
I have finished Shizukana Teien. This may not be the best place to post this (if it isn't okay, Michael and TAXI Tech geniuses), but here is a link for anyone who would like to hear it.
