Hello Everyone

Post by GlenH » Sat Sep 15, 2018 12:12 am

Dear Taxi members. I would like to say a big HELLO to you all. My name is Glen Hubbard and live in the UK in the county of Norfolk.thats about 15 miles from Ed sheeran and 5 miles from Brian Eno,But I've never met or seen either of them. :D . I live and work on the Raveningham Estate (there is a web site for anyone who is interested) where i help look after all the building maintenance on the old cottages, Farmhouses and the Hall itself.Basically i have a full time job but i love to get into the old man cave and produce a bit of music whenever i can. I am also in a band(cover band,Boo,Dirty money) Called "Wapscallions" Life of Brian fans may get the name,I'm the Singer and we've been together about 14 years regularly playing 2 or 3 times a month and working our way through several bass players and drummers.

I have been watching Taxi TV for several years now,I remember the first time I saw it , I thought Michael was completely bonkers with his fake band and audience doing
"the Big Show" with so few people watching ,but i loved what he had to say and it gradually emerged that there was this whole fantastic community of people like me who love to create music but then were not too sure what to do with it. Film and TV, Who'd of thought?? Also the guests that Michael has had on have been truly inspirational too,

I became a Taxi member back in January but it has taking until now to build up the courage to introduce myself ,I went onto the Forums back then and was completely blown away by the quality of the music and songs that you were all producing, just outstanding. But this lead to me having a bit of a confidence malfunction so i haven't posted anything until now. I have just uploaded some songs onto soundcloud so if anyone fancies a listen i would be hugely grateful to find out how I'm doing as I am relatively new to the recording thing . I bought a computer and Logic about 5 years ago but it took me about 6 months to learn how to turn it on.

I hope to become a lot more active on the Forums in future ,I'm sorry i haven't left any feedback as yet but I haven't felt all that qualified to do so (although i haven't done too badly with the Forward or not shows on Taxi TV) but I have heard what i think is some fantastic music so far. Good luck to all of you and i will look forward to being in touch with you all soon.

Happy Music Making Regards Glen

Hi Glen, welcome to the forums. I listened to some of your songs and would say you are going pretty well. We are all on a learning journey here maybe people at a lot of different levels but there are some very kind helpful people around. I don't know how some of them find the time and I guess they aren't always on the job so it pays not to take it personally if a post goes by without much attention.
If you put in here you will be helped along.
Cheers
Lester

Hello Glen - I'm in the UK too, on the coast near Brighton.

Had a quick listen to a few of your tracks on Soundcloud. Nice work, your production skills aren't at all bad so keep doin what you're doin.

I just signed up for a second year with Taxi - I find it has helped me become more focussed writing to a brief as opposed to feeling totally free of restraint as I used to be before Taxi .... and rarely finished anything!

Be confident in your abilities and just remember that the forums here are filled with really good people who are more than happy to help and offer advice when needed and to give encouragement.

Cheers

Richard

HI All . Thank you so much for your replies and taking your time out to have a listen to my songs. Peter I will repost my sound cloud link for you and Richard and Lester thank you for your kind words of encouragement. Life is very busy but I am very keen to get involved with the forums and hope at some point to also offer my opinion in the peer to peer section should anyone wish to hear it. Richard I listened to some of your tracks too, I loved the piano Tracks, just gorgeous and your percussion tracks are immense. Lester I'm so envious of your guitar playing, and all so cleverly put together. i wish you both every success and thanks again.

I look forward to hearing from you soon Peter. I've heard your name mentioned so often on Taxi Tv . Your already a legend.

All The Best Glen
