OK, this is my honest reaction to this....I want to love this so much because it has such great energy and a great feel to it. And I feel that you guys have a ton of potential with this style. But somehow, it's just not really hitting me. I could just need to hear it a few times. But on first listen I'm just not feeling it as much as I'd like to. Reminds me a lot of String Cheese Incident, Keller Williams, even Zappa a bit in the beginning. If I heard this on a listening station, I would probably come pretty close to buying the CD, but for some reason it just wouldn't totally win me over. And I can't put my finger on what it is. It sounds like a lot of other artists I listen to without being too similar that it would be boring. I'm listening a second time, and it may very well just be the mix that isn't grabbing me.I don't know if this helps at all, but this is my reaction. If I was an A & R guy, I think I'd say something like: "You guys might be onto something here, but I'm not totally sold yet" and then I'd keep an eye on you guys, and see what other cool sh#t you come up with over the next year or so....Elliott

Hey Joe and Todd, had a listen, like the song a lot but I think Elliot may have hit the nail on the head with the mix. The drums need to pop more and I think the acoustic is too much upfront. I assume you guys are an acoustic duo but I would consider all electric on this one. Also there's a break section around 2 mins with dirty guitar, the drums should follow along with some cymbal crashes. I'm just feeling a more jumping feel to the song (the Clib, you know, jumping ) but i thought the song was good with some nice changes/breaks... Geo

Thanks for listening. I think your both right. There are things I really like about this song; I certainly enjoyed singing it and the 'idea' of it. But it's definitely a work in progress. I messed around with the mix and dabbled with some electric guitar parts in the verse and chorus this morning but nothing hit me.Dropping the acoustic (12 string) out of the verses all together made kind of an interesting feel, but my head has been in this one to much lately and I’m having hard time hearing anything for it. Songwriting/producing for us is less like an orchestrated-structured event and more like a biological function. As a result, our style is all over the map, from bluegrass to weird rock. I enjoy that, to be honest, but I’m not sure if it’s a good or a bad thing.I would like to learn how to exercise some control over my output; so I can be less surprised, at the results of the work.Joe Freeman
