Dear Fellow Taxi Forum Members:
I am a Taxi member now for the past 4 years and am embarrassed to say that this is my first time to post on the Taxi Forum. I have attended 3 rallies now in LA and have found Taxi to be an excellent investment for me as it has taken me to the next level in my music career. I have met some of the most incredibly talented folks through Taxi, and have been inspired by each of one of them. Taxi has continued to be the foundation for me to keep me growing as a musician, sound engineer, songwriter, guitarist, composer, etc.....The folks in Taxi are the 'cream of the crop' as far as the amount of talent you will be exposed to, and as far as the growth potential you can obtain in your own career path. I have learned so very much in the last several years as a Taxi member, and find that the feedback obtain from submission is well worth the yearly fee. That does not take into account the added bonus value of the benefits gained from attending the rallies each year, the relations you will build as a member of taxi, the knowledge you will learn from Taxi TV, and from reading the Forum, and from meeting the overall professionals you are exposed to each year.
I am a guitarist/composer and joined Taxi after trying to get back into the 'music business' again. I had traveled all over North America is the 70s and 80s as a Lead Guitar Player in multiple bands, and decided at that time it was not what I wanted to do anymore. I had married early, started a family, and found that traveling on the road for weeks at a time was not cohesive to building a strong marriage and family. I decided at that time in my life in 1978 to go back to school and worked a full-time job in the daytime, and attended night school for 13 years in a row until I obtained a masters degree in CIS. Now I am a Tech Program Manager in Corporate America. However, my love for music is my passion, and that is where my heart is every day I wake up.
I continue to write music, and will likely continue writing music throughout the rest of my life. Since I am a musician and songwriter, I have music out on Soundcloud.com/musicforyourfilm and on my website: www.musicforyourfilm.net. My taxi page is taximusic.com/musicforyourfilm. I would welcome any feedback (constructive/positive) if you have the time to listen and shoot me an email. I will likely be a lifelong member of taxi.com since I believe the membership fee is well worth the value I obtain in learning about the industry, watching the folks grow their careers, and learning about the industry overall. Taxi is a good investment for me, and can be for you too. If you take advantage of what is available.
I have submitted over 100 submission within Taxi by now, and have obtained a large number of fowards. However, at this time, I have not made any income from Taxi. My income has come from doing underscore for several independent films, and documentaries, and also in providing music for advertising, web programs, and for local TV commercials. As of 3 years into this, I have not made any income from Taxi. However, the value of my knowledge gained as a member of Taxi has far surpassed the amount of money I have invested in membership fees.
Feel free to contact me for any feedback, questions, or just to share what your doing with Taxi, and/or in your music career.
I would love to hear from you. Keep the faith. You can do it.
Regards,
Tim Williams

Taxi has helped to regroup and rebuild a career in music. I have submitted over 100 posts now, and have multiple forwards, but have not made any income (yet) from Taxi. The value in Taxi is network with folks, learn what is popular today, and to understand your weaknesses and strengths as a writer. The feedback from your submissions is well worth the 5 bucks, and the annual fee. Michael G. had a wonderful idea when he started out Taxi.
