I want to write a song about Nasville's seemingly never ending resentment towards new music (like Shania Twain and Taylor Swift),
and I wonder if you could help me out with titles. So far I've got these:

As one who likes Classic Country - i.e. songs with accompaniment that includes pedal steel guitar, fiddle, and a bit of Telecaster 'twang'...
I also think Shania & Taylor's songs - even the not-Country songs - are usually of the highest caliber.

which isn't a rejection of those artists - but a push-back about selling them off within the Country genre.

i think i prefer your first suggestion of the two

and yes, i think you're right, the resentment is about incorporating elements from other genres, such as pop, as you mentioned.
for this reason i find country very stale and boring. i keep hearing the same sound/production, same melodies, same development, same voices.
the only thing that sets the songs apart are the lyrics. but then again, i guess this is something that applies to many genres, not just country.
but i like the old country though, like willie nelsson, chris kristofferson, johnny cash. but modern country...nahh.
