HELP WITH MAC DESKTOP PLEASE!
Hi Everyone,
I've been using an iMac for recording forever. I really love the 21.5" screen, but it's really slow for internet, email, etc. I'd like to keep using it for my studio workstation as it seems to be OK when recording. However, maybe this is stupid and I should upgrade to something else. I have a Mac Pro laptop from 2015. That's the newest computer I have. Any suggestions on what I should do? Should I get rid of the i Mac all together? If so, what do I do with it?
Any suggestions on a studio makeover would be greatly appreaciated.
Thanks!

I'm also using a 2015 Macbook Pro and have had no issues with it. I have a keyboard/mouse and multiple external monitors so it basically functions like a desktop when I'm at home, but I can unplug it and take it with me if I want. Huge advantage, especially if you're a band and like to do remote recordings, or just work on music away from home. I would just get rid of the iMac and stick with the MBP if I were you - maybe try putting it on Craigslist? eBay might be too much of a pain because you'd have to ship it.

Keep the iMac and use it as a second monitor.I have the same iMac..great machine but I only use it for recording..or checkout"How to make you mac faster" on youtube..clean the hard drive if you haven't and should be fast again.BuzzCampbell wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 3:34 pmHi Everyone,

Re: HELP WITH MAC DESKTOP PLEASE!
Hey guys!!
Both great ideas. I truly appreciate you taking the time to respond. I was thinking the same thing about using my Macbook Pro as my main DAW and having the ability to work remotely.
I was also wondering about how to clean my old iMac and make it run a bit more smoothly. Thanks for the YOUTUBE video suggestion. I will definately look into doing that.
Nice to hear you're still using your iMac for recording Gitanosoy . Using it as an additional monitor was another idea that crossed my mind. I wasn't sure if that was possible. I'm sure there's a video out there of how to chain an iMac as external monitor.
Thanks for the feed back!!!
