First time in 43 years (in their 50 year history) that a Jazz album won Album of the Year...

So freakin' cool! And considering that my all time favorite songwriter, Joni Mitchell, was involved with it, well, that makes it all that sweeter.

Good news like this might make me consider watching the Grammys.

I was thrilled to hear this (didn't watch the Grammys, can't stomach them anymore ), less than thrilled to read that it might've been because there was some kind of tug of war between voters for Kanye and Amy. I keep hoping people are evolving but I guess not.... Herbie's talented, innovative, intelligent and very deserving of this award. Regardless of how he got it, he's earned a lifetime of them.

I haven't watched the grammy's in years, but I would have last night if I knew Herbie had a chance. Maybe change is in the air after all! Now, if the US auto makers will just produce a car that gets 100 miles to the gallon....
