Here's a Track for the "World" Listing - Comments?
Hi - This is my first post for a forum critique. Looking forward to getting involved.
Any criticism totally appreciated - don't have to be 'nice' :~) Quick n dirty is good.

* What can I add to give more dynamics?
* More instruments or effects?
Thanks from San Francisco!

1st off welcome to the boards! 2nd, I agree with Ott, that this was a really nice listen! Good job! This is not my genre, so grain of salt here, the acoustic guitar ( and I love acoustic guitar work! ) doesn't really say "WORLD" to me. I could be wrong but I'm thinking wooden flutes and obscure ethinic stringed instruments would work better. Having said that, you may find you're right on and I am dead wrong. Either way, a really good 1st try!
Good Luck!

Hi ....Happy to give feedback.....I just joined too. I liked your track and although the genre thing stumps me at the moment too until I've listened to more, I think the guitar sometimes sounds a little too harsh for what you are portraying. I think the guy who suggested wooden flutes was right to lighten it and keep an ethnic feel to it. Rhythmically i like the breaks in the rhythm but feel it perhaps needs a bit more drive maybe with an additional djembe type drum or something to keep it moving......that's just me.
Godd to see you round....look forward to hearing more.

I agree with Keith. I enjoyed it, but there was no recognizable regional flavor here, really. I would think it could easily be filled out with a few extra instrument choices...and it could go so many different ways. North African, Middle Eastern, Eastern European, Gypsy...

First off, its a cool song. Nice groove, subtle melody.
IT falls more into the smooth jazz category than the world music field. Although it has those "ethnic" instrument backings, it doesn't automatically make it world music (whatever they may call it)

Bring up the 2nd guitar more and let it have more activity. THis would give it a stronger inner charge. Al invert the melody more throughout the song. This will make it less hollow sounding. The effects should be minimal for this piece.

Thanks SO MUCH for the quick feedback, guys, you all rock. I'm so excited to have some kind of community for this stuff - wow. I'm a piano player, so playing the guitar is - well, it's me making some stabs. All comments taken to heart, and revisions in process.
