Here's to a (Big) Blue Christmas!

Post by bigbluebarry » Wed Dec 24, 2008 6:04 am

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope that you each have a wonderful Holiday season. I'm about a week and a half away from my one year TAXI anniversary! It's hard to believe it's almost been a year already... It's amazing how much faster time seems to move as you get older. I'm gonna do a Year In Review post in a couple of weeks (hat tip to Devin for the inspiration) but after I submitted a few songs this morning, I updated my little "stats sheet" and noticed that the last song I submitted this morning was officially my 100th submission this year. Since I'm a numbers guy (math major in college) I figured this was an occasion worth celebrating. So in the spirit of Christmas I'm gonna make the song available for download for the rest of the year to anyone who wants a copy. But I think I should give you perspective on the song, here's the listing I submitted it for:HIGH ENERGY HARD ROCK/PUNK SONGS AND INSTRUMENTALS are needed by the Music Supervisor for a few new reality shows by the creators of "Jackass" and "Rob and Big". If you already submitted to D081030RK, please submit different material - as noted in that listing, this Sup had a very urgent need for material but also would like a range to work with over time. You can think in the stylistic approach of Demented Are Go!, System of a Down, Slipknot, Nine Inch Nails, Suicidal Tendencies, Social Distortion, etc. You can present lyrics that are a bit left of center and wacky, but remember that these songs are for a show with some humor - nothing too dark, morose or angry. Instrumentals will be considered as well as songs with vocals. Performances need to be great and the tempo/energy needs to race. Recordings must be at Broadcast Quality, though excellent home recordings should be just fine. We'll need to be pretty selective here, so make sure to send in your BEST 1-3 songs online or per CD - include lyrics if applicable. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than December 23, 2008. So with that in mind, feel free to download the song for free, because... "There's No Charge For Awesomeness" http://www.taximusic.com/download/19547 ... meness.mp3 - Big Blue
