I've been unable to even load in my Steinway B grand from my EWQL GOld so I upgraded to 4 GB and now it gets to 97% loaded but I still can't use it!!!Some more, some less. I have a 2GB system which will load a reasonably full Garritan Personal Orchestra (individual instruments, not whole sections) but I have to then load their Lite Steinway. If I load the full steinway I have to be verrry careful of what else goes in or everything develops electronic forgetfulness. So, one either builds/buys yet another computer, or lives with the limitation. I'm not happy, myself, at spending large amounts of money to make small amounts...you know, how to make a small fortune: start with a large fortune and buy lots of top-level instrument, computing and studio gear... I have 3 GB on my Macbook Pro and can run all kinds of things, albeit not too many at once, but Ivory has not been a problem. Try this. record your audio to one firewire drive, and have your samples loaded on a separate one. that's what I do. If you have everything hitting the same disk - DAW (e.g. Pro Tools, etc.), samplers, audio files, the disk is going to be your bottleneck.-s-
