Hey Mac people, totally unexpected here
So I've got my mac, right? For about four months or something now. Its going great but I never hooked it up to the web cuz I woulda had to get a DSL modem and it woulda been extra. Anyway, I got my daughter an i-touch for graduation (it's so cool! ) and we checked to see if the wi-fi would work on it (knowing zip about wi-fi) and sure enough, it did! So then we checked my mac and it worked for that too! I'm totally ignorant about wi-fi. First off, we have DSL here at home. Last I heard about 6 months ago, they weren't doing cable even out here for the next few years. So how is this working? And if it's apple doing it, am I gonna get a bill? All excited and yet, too old to not be a bit suspicious, Squids

If you don't have a wireless router set up in your house, then you're probably grabbing a signal from your neighbor, or some nearby business. And no, you won't get a bill from apple.

Then I heard about someone getting in trouble with the RIAA because someone in his building was downloading illegal mp3's through his un-protected wi-fi router.Don't know the out-come of his situation but I know that he had to go through a bunch of hassle to prove the download wasn't coming from his pc.

Putting your own wifi router on your DSL connection is easy. If you wanna keep it all Apple, just pick up one of these handy dandy speedy routers. I got this same box on ebay recently for less than this...
