Hi! (new member)

Post by jasoncullimore » Mon Jul 13, 2009 3:15 pm

Hi everyone!I've been a member of Taxi for about a year and a half and have thoroughly enjoyed reading the forum. It is great to see a community where people work together and help each other develop artistically. I hope to get to know you all better in the future. I am a composer based in Regina, Saskatchewan, in middle of the Canadian prairies. There is a thriving arts scene here, and I've had the opportunity to write scores for film, television, and theater productions in and around the city, some of which have had a national profile. I'm also very interested in art music, and am about to hit a milestone as the Regina Symphony Orchestra will be performing a piece I wrote called "Woodland Fables" in a concert in November. I've tried my hand at writing in as many different styles of music as I can, and love to write music that mixes different genres together, particularly electronica and classical music. If you would like to hear some of my music, you can find some at my web site:http://www.jasoncullimore.comAlso, I posted two submissions to the Alt New Age listing up in the Peer to Peer section for review, feel free to let me know what you think!Warm regards,- Jason

Welcome Jason!Excellent stuff on your website. Just a random sampling revealed very high quality in composition, orchestration and production.Must be nice to have some real orchestra players available from time to time but you also wrangle the samples very well. Hope you share some of your experience and knowledge here. Cheers!Mazz

Thanks, Mazz, Big Blue and Bryan, for the welcome!Mazz and Bryan: I really appreciate your comments on my web site's music. Most of those demos were written in the last few years and many of the pieces were written originally as Taxi submissions. I've been reading the Peer to Peer and other sections of the forum for over a year, and it has really helped me to develop composing skill, especially in styles in which I was weaker before joining Taxi. I'm looking forward to posting more of my music for critique and sharing whatever help and advice I can give on others' music. Best,- Jason
