Hi Octane instrumental

Post by teleblaster » Fri Jan 11, 2008 2:40 pm

www.soundclick.com/teleblaster track is called 'Trash Talkin'. It's an SRV inspired tune (based loosely on Scuttlebuttin'). A few questions.Things yet to do on this track:* Mix is good, but needs some tweaks on the bass and kick connection* Need to figure out a button ending (I have lots of takes for an ending just need to pick one and do it)* One of the last breaks the guitar is pretty far out of pocket, need to look for some alternate takes and fix thatQuestions:* Does this fit the listing? I could see this in a chase scene for 'Dukes of Hazard II" * Any comments or suggestions on the song, playing and or production? Many thanks in advance for replies. I've been lurking on this board for a while, and there are lots of folks with skills and talent giving great advice. This is my first post where I'm asking for critiques, so be please gentle Erich

Great mix. It sure is uptempo and groovin. It also has some happiness shed over itself so for a dramatic car chase i.e. I don´t think it will match. But for something that needs a sense of tempo without being too dramatical - or actually being a tad fun, I say it´s very good. Can´t see the listing nowadays, but wanted to chime in anyways.

It might be maybe too happy and not enough throat grabbing, I could imagine it more as a background for sport- mistakes, like ppl running into each other etc, rather than something very exiting.

I have to agree it's probably not quite right for "high octane", but for a sports bloopers show? Absolutely!Really cool tune. Excellent guitar work. Don't think I'd change much, just need to find the right spot for it.Good work dude.By the way - you didn't ask for feedback on your other stuff, but I listened to some of it just for curiosity's sake. IMHO you are a helluva musician. I'd strongly encourage you to find an appropriate listing for "Made for Eachother". Lovely tune. Nice arrangement. Don't think it fits the country genre at all. Contrary to it's description it's a jazz number. Look for the right "jazz instrumental" listing and you've probably got a deal-maker.Ditto your beautiful jazz rendition of O Come O Come Emmanuel. This is one of my favorite pieces of music, and this arrangement of it is simply fantastic!Excellent, excellent work!

Ok, just listened to "Slippery Slope".Holy crap dude! You had me at hello. This is another great track. Skynyrd meets the the Doobies. This one is begging for some lyrics IMHO.I'm gonna quit posting now and listen to some more of your stuff. Count me a fan!

Finally got back to this post. Thanks all for the comments; they're all extremely helpful. You know I played 'Trash Talkin' for my brother and he said the same thing, sports bloopers, outtakes etc.ephlat66: I don't pay much attention to the 'genre' on my soundclick page, thanks for pointing out the mismatch on 'Made For Each Other'. I did submit this for a Romantic listing on Taxi, although I don't know if it's all that romantic -- mostly I wanted a TAXI critique. Glad you liked my stuff and thanks for the kind words Thanks again to allErich
