HOT DIGGITY DOG!!!!!

Post by hummingbird » Thu Feb 28, 2008 1:52 pm

Well, shiver me timbers... I was just checking my submission history to remind myself what was pending... and I noticed a hot little [F] right there on my screen... I never got an email, don't know why but I gots myself a Forward!!!! Yehaaawwwww Fenugreek Hai-http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=trueand here's the (dispatch) listing:HOT ACTION INSTRUMENTALS are needed by an East Coast Music Library/Publisher who has signed and placed dozens of TAXI songs. He specifically needs driving underlying rhythms and punches, with tons of adrenaline and building suspense. These segments should be on the cutting edge of contemporary, with an exciting drive and percussive turning points. He wants tracks that are in the 1:30 to 3:00 range. If he likes your track and is interested in signing a deal, he’ll also want :30 and :60 second edits as well. Also, your pieces must have endings - no fade-outs. He offers a non-exclusive publishing deal. Broadcast quality needed [excellent-sounding home recordings are OK].I'm printing out my little certificate RIGHT NOW -----------------------------------OMG OMG OMG - I was just looking there to print off my certificate for the listing above... and I found... I found... another Forward... OMG OMG!!!! Race up the Beanstalkhttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=9836 ... truehere's the (regular) listing - Playful CARTOON INSTRUMENTALS are once again sought by a West Coast-based Music Publisher who typically supplies music to companies such as Muzak (tracks for retail shops, restaurants, malls, etc.). He's been expanding his repertoire and wants to find great material for the upcoming TV season, as he has numerous contacts in that world as well. He's open to all types of instrumentation. Think along the lines of the underscore in Bugs Bunny/Road Runner/Warner Bros./Hanna-Barbera cartoons as a good example of what he's seeking - fun, slapstick, energetic. He's asked us to be extra selective in what we forward - he wants quality over quantity - so your instrumental performances must be excellent. Your submissions should be between 1:00 - 3:00 minutes in length. the screener said - "Hello Vikki,Congratulations on your forward! You have demonstrated effectively a talent for underscoring cartoons in a fun animated way. Track appears to be a solid home recording. I would be careful not to allow crashes to linger on for a cleaner effect. The instrumental has the character of Warner Bros./Hanna-Barbera cartoons in my opinion. Much success to you and in all of your future submissions as well!" You guys don't know how much this means to me. Two Forwards in one day. After years of return after return after return after return. I credit a lot of my success to you, your patient feedback and consistent support are truly a gift in my life. I'd like to thank the Academy, my parents, my dog, my dust bunnies... and most of all, THE DOTS...okay I'll shut up now where's the kleenex?

Vikki,Congrats on the forwards!!!Your work is growing in leaps and bounds.Sometimes we tend to think that a forward is the goal. The goal is producing great tracks and a forward simply acknowledges the great track. You are going to have a great year because you are working constantly at improving your craft. I'm proud to be your friend and sometimes "partner in crime"Chuck
