Heya, welcome...To make a direct link, you have to right click (on the link that would immediately play the song) and click on Copy Shortcut, and then paste that URL into your message and when people click on it, it should automatically play your song...Hope this helps...Take careBrad

Hi jimlapWelcome to the Forum. Have you downloaded an mp3 of your tune to the Taxi hosting sight? Once your music is downloaded to the right page (see the "my music" section of your profile), it's easy to link to any messages you leave here. Just in case you have a mac, like me, you put your pointer on the "play" button, which will be to the right of your tunes title, and control click and choose "copy link". I usually open up a text edit window and copy the address to the clipboard so I have easy access to it while writing my message. Once you copy it in your message window everything else is automatic. Good luck.Mewman

If I may...I'm also new to the forum, and while I DO know how to directly link to my song, I'm at a loss to figure out how to put my picture on these posts. The instructions say to input the URL address of my picture, but I have no clue where to find that. After searching thru the forum, I've not discovered the answer to my question... so if some kind soul would enlighten me, I'd be forever grateful.Gosh, I wish my first post could have been something a little more exciting than this.

To do that, you first need to have your picture posted somewhere else on the web. Some people link to their Broadjam picture while others have a picture they like to use on a photo hosing site like photobucket or on their personal web page. I, for example, have a Geocities page with a picture on it so I pasted this link in the box labeled "Avatar URL" on my Taxi forum setup page. Here's my URL:http://www.geocities.com/allendesomer/A ... ated.gifIf you don't know how to tell what the URL for your picture is, try right clicking (in Internet explorer) on the picture and select "Properties". The URL for your picture is listed there. Here's a tip: If your new avatar image looks stretched you'll need to adjust the height and width in the boxes below where you placed your URL address.Hope it helps.-Allen

OK... so Lindsey, you said that you're new here too, but your posting shows you've been a member since '05. Do you mean you waited all this time to join the forum?!!Which brings up an interesting survey question (well, interesting to ME anyway)...How long after joining Taxi was it before each of you "drove into" the forum, instead of just doing all those "drive-bys"? (....scant attempt at "TAXI" humor)afterthought - maybe I'll just post this somewhere else under a more appropriate heading sometime.

I was a member back in 2004, but it wasn't until summer of last year that I started poking my head in more. When I couldn't find my initial registration stuff, I rejoined the forum in Nov 2007 and have been around ever since. Love it here! I've learned so much here, it's like having an extra college education, without all the tuition! The only problem is the forum love. Yeah, that's a real problem. I've got to remember to get back into the studio again once in a while... Good to have you on board, Cyndy! Raags
