How long of a song to submit...

Post by brandonamatias » Sat Aug 21, 2010 6:11 pm

Hey Everyone,

I apologize as I am sure this has been answered several times. If we are submitting for instrumentals, say in mainstream rock, how long does it have to be? I am guessing maybe a verse, chorus, bridge, then chorus? Would love advice from all the pros here :D

Thank you!
Brandon

2 minutes is a good time to shoot for. A lot of libraries seem to ask for a 2 minute minimum. You'll find a lot of them are Ok with 1:30 cuts too, but for a listing I would do 2 minutes since you don't know anything about the listing party. You should be safe with a 2 minute cue.
