How long s typical notification time?

Post by beckroo » Sat May 09, 2009 4:40 pm

How long is the typical notification time for TAXI on submissions? For example, sent a song for submission on 3/16/09 with a dead line on 4/15/09. It is still pending on 5/9/09??? Anyone know abot the process?

If you don't hear anything within another week, I'd call TAXI's customer service and check. Once or twice I haven't received a results email / or the results email might have gone into a spam folder. But sounds like you checked your submission history already. cheersHummin'birdPS - FAQs athttp://taxi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=2141

Hi BeckrooTypically 3-4 weeks past DEADLINE date for regular submissions and 5-10 days for Dispatch ones. Sometimes regular ones come back in the 2-3 week timeframe, but more of the time it's at least 3 weeks. I hear that taxi is working on ways to accelerate turn-around time, not that the above is all that slow.Factors that affect this include: Who is doing the screening? Does it require a more narrow specialist based on genre, so less screeners can be involved?... Is the end user screening their own? (THEIR schedule affects it)... How many submissions were there? They don't send out results until every submission is reviewed. To the best of my knowledge, reviewing submissions does not begin until the deadline has past-- early birds get no worms here. Casey

Thank you Hummingbird and Casey H. for the clarifications. Obviously, I am new. Sent two songs for the listing that ended on 4/13, so given 4-6 weeks for response, the end of the month sounds about right. Thanks for the feedback. Just starting to tap into TAXI's features and would love to know which forums or aspects of TAXI that would be the most helpful!

As far as the forums - there's so much traffic on this forum that I go immediately to the bottom of the home page and click on the 100 most recent posts once or twice a day - And I still miss a lot! Thanks, Vikki for that tip - it saved me from being completely overwhelmed by the sheer volume of posts. Then, click on the title of the post and it will take you to the thread - you may find 1 page or 10 pages of posts on any thread. Welcome and good writing!Your coach,Debra

Thanks for passing along the links, Coach Debra and Hummingbird. Think this will be a good start into a long segue. A good community can make all the difference in music. I appreciate the feedback and am hoping that I can learn and go further and reciprocate!
