Hey I was thinking about his after my (non member dissappointment) post. How many of us here are from the Caribbean or have Caribbean roots?

My background is Trini which is obviously in the caribbean. I grew up on calypso and soca music and also reggae music. Considering that hip-hop is more north americanized I started liking that too in the 80's. With so much various genres of music I was able to change and manipulate my music production sounds and composition from it.

I lived in Grenada for 2 1/2 years, then Northern coast of Venezuela for 7 years, St.Martin for half a year, and Lee Stocking island in The Bahamas for 1-1/2years.

I work down there about one week per month so I'm getting to know my around pretty good.I only know the port cities so I don't get to see the more permanent culture but everything I get to see is beautiful. I always have fun there. Never have been to Trinidad but I know some guys from there.Elser
