Dan as always - great work. Nice flow, the only thing I'd like to hear is more emphasis on the low end with regards to BIG DRUMS - obviously not all the way through - just at certain points emphasizing the attack... but like I said as usual - a great track well done....

Dan,Great track, as usual.One of the things I've been doing to "punch" the "BIG DRUMS" is layering them with a percussive synth patch. (FM8 seems to work well, an FM type bass patch, fast attack with an edge) This seems to not only reinforce the drums but adds a little pitch to them as well.Chuck

If you're using a compressor on the drums, make sure the attack isn't too fast or it will make the drums sound smaller. The idea is to let the attack through and then let the compressor bring up the body of the sound. I tend to prefer vintage-type compressors for drums, like the fairchild or the LA-2A. They are pretty slow by today's standards which means they preserve the initial THWACK, which gives the ear/mind the impression that something big was just hit.THWACKMazz

I think it's a great piece. I would echo the opinions with the drums. Overall I think they are too low in the mix. I like that their not in your face and overpowering, but I think they ccould all come up a few dBs without ruining messing the mix up.Good work Dan.
