I'd like to introduce myself....

Post by Bad Monkey » Sat Feb 20, 2010 9:25 pm

hello all,
I'm a newbie and been lurking in the wings reading ,watching and hopefully learning . My name is Bob de moya and I'm a longtime writer and have been wanting to introduce myself and some of my tunes so I guess its time to jump in the water. I'm not sure where this song might fit but it's suppose to be a fun country song , so if it makes you smile or even laugh thats ok. The name of the song is "You've been lyin' like a rug ( so now I'm walkin out on you )". I humbley look forward to any responses. And I look forward to getting to know you all. Thanks.

here's a few bananas for you:
that tune was really, really fun. Loved the lyrics, loved the singer (seriously, who is she?). more talented competition on this board. damn. seriously liked this.

Hey Bob-

Welcome.

That is one seriously Bad Monkey you've got there! Love it. Does he play keys?

Here are a few observations from my first listen -

- Seemed to start abruptly. Took a second to catch up with the tune.

- Musicianship and vocal are all strong, but I missed hearing a presence in this. Certain parts (like vocals) seemed a tad dull in the mix.

- The guitar duet (?) was a little jarring and came out very strong. It seemed to be mixed wide, whereas the rest of the mix was pretty tight toward the middle.

I may be wrong, listening on my computer speakers...

Good luck with this song.

Bob,

Probably will find a fit with a listing asking for a "comical melody".......If you can paste/copy your lyrics next time that would be a great help....best of luck and welcome to the forum.......

Regards,
Dick

hello all,
thanks for the kind words and advise. The singers name is Mindy Nilson . I get her to sing on my demos any chance I get. very un-diva like and usually gets it in one or two takes. If she had more time I probably would never sing again, lol.thank you all for taking the time to listen.
