Submitted this http://www.billgaunce.com/song/3for this, and got forwarded . . . man what a quick turnaround, the deadline was just yesterday!!!ORIGINAL SONG SOUNDALIKES for the song “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” by War are needed immediately by a successful Music Supervisor who needs a replacement track for a Feature Film starring Brandon Routh, Sophia Bush, Jesse Bradford & more. This Music Supe recently placed a TAXI song in a film starring Eva Longoria Parker and Jason Biggs. This film is a romantic comedy revolving around a young man who invites a couple to become his roommates and the disaster that follows. The scene that is in question is the “get to know you” scene, where they have fun and everything seems to be new and exciting - this particular song plays over the entire scene. The lyrics to this song do play an important role in the scene, so you should be sure to write about friendship/good times/etc. or a completely general/unobtrusive & light subject matter. An upbeat, playful tone should be the overall approach lyrically. Musically, you should try to come as close as possible to the referenced track - simple, positive, mid tempo, etc. Male vocals are preferable for this one. A slightly comedic approach is just fine, lyrically and musically... but more romantic or friendship oriented than silly. No instrumentals or cover songs, please! You must own all publishing rights (master/sync) to your song in full and you’ll want to have work-for-hire agreements from any musicians who played on your recording. Excellent performances are an absolute must and broadcast quality is required, though great home recordings should be fine. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. Thaks Aub! Yours is a lot closer to the groove of the War song than mine. I didn't write this for the listing. Had it just collecting dust, when the listing came through i was thinkin' Mmmmmm this might fit theme wise even if it's off the mark groove wise. Well, good luck to both of us . . .
