Wow! this is such a great post. Thank you Len911! I will check out these links. I look at these and I am really interested in songplugger groups in Los Angeles because I'm not country. For that a great song is required.

I am really in a bind so this could be just what I need. I spoke to a few attorneys in the Los Angeles area and one was interested in taking the song along to drop it during other business but wrote back wanting to put together a 6 song CD wanting $1000.00 then I talked with another attorney and he advised me to not pay anything out of pocket. We sent several emails but I don't have permission to post there names. Also, I ran across a list of attorneys in the music connection which should be easy to find but most of those don't shop.

California Lawyers for the Arts is pretty great for general stuff and possibly can inform you about the next step. Their membership fee is 40 bucks or something like that (annually?) - and it comes with a short interaction with them by phone if I remember correctly. I have used them twice for specific advice and was pretty happy with what I got. If you go forward with needing more time from an attorney, I think you have to start paying real rates. But you can join for the fee, get your free short consultation and take it from there.

Hi,

I contacted CLA sometime ago but they don't have attorneys who shop music. I was also advised by another attorney that I should never pay for shopping but only pay a contingency. Thanks for the post.
