Indian music forwards :-)
Man, I sure LOVE IT when I get forwarded! Some stuff never gets old. Here's what made it through for the listing for traditional Indian songs:Raga Bhimplas - Sitar Mixed Raga - Sitar I usually don't bother to post details of critiques but this one was particularly joyful and sweet. Some of you may remember I once mentioned how hard I work on those programmed Indian tabla tracks for my traditional songs. Well, check out the funny comment highlighted in yellow below. The screener says they'd be "shocked" if the drums aren't real! Now THAT'S very satisfying to hear since, of course, I slaved away for many hours to make the drums sound real!! One last thing that I find comforting in this set of forwards is that the second song was one that I created specifically for the listing in a very short time frame. Hey, I think I may be getting the hang of this! Thanks for partying with me!-AllenTitle: Mixed Raga - SitarVery strong job on this piece, all around. The tabla sound is killer and I'd be shocked if it's from samples (if it is, I want that library right away!). Solid sitar performance as well and all is beautifully recorded.Status: ForwardTitle: Raga Bhimplas - SitarSimple, unadorned raga style worked very well for this. Some excellent stretches of playing. Very well recorded. Tablas, once they entered, were again a highlight. Status: ForwardStyle On target for this listingMixed Raga and Raga Bhimplas were right on the nose.Overall CommentsAllen - Hi there and thanks for sending in these three pieces, which I thoroughly enjoyed hearing. The instant I heard the tablas on Mixed Raga, I was pretty much sold. Many other elements amongst these three piece worked beautifully as well.I loved the slow, contemplative Raga Bhimplas, which featured some of the best sitar work on here. The only piece which didn't quite get me was Sitar Suspense, which was a mixed bag. The percussion, in particular, sounded so great on the other two tracks that who needed a drum machine!? Based on the wonderful 1st and 3rd cuts, you're forwarded. Best of luck, Allen!!!Sound Quality Well-recordedSuper production quality on the 1st and 3rd cuts. 2nd cut was solid quality. The main reason(s) you were or were not forwarded for this listing is:The excellent 1st & 3rd cuts, Mixed Raga and Raga Bhimplas.Listener ID # 115S080812ISA wide variety of original and authentic-sounding TRADITIONAL & CONTEMPORARY INDIAN SONGS & INSTRUMENTALS are being sought by an established Music Library/Publisher that has worked with TAXI for years.
