Industrial Trailer/Scoring Music

Post by Leigh » Wed Feb 02, 2011 12:12 pm

Hello everyone.

I am brand new to the Taxi forums and was hoping to hear a few opinions as to whether or not the track listed below would be suitable for film/tv or game scoring.

I am trying to decide if I should pursue this avenue musically and would welcome any and all input.

Cheers,
Leigh.

Hi Leigh - you know what I think. ;)

BTW, I was going to ask, what's the bpm on this one?

Hi Leigh,
I can easily picture this being picked up for a movie.

Personally, when you changed up at 30 seconds my vision was a major hand to hand style battle, and then when you changed up again around 1:50 I felt like it could be a chase scene.

It had the desired effect, at least on me. I wouldn't hesitate to pursue this further.

It's certainly got the right vibe and textures. I thought the percussion and rhythm synced synths worked really well. The one thing I really wanted but never got was a really big climax.

Nice work!

Hi Rob,

Indeed I do, and I'm very grateful for everything you've done to help me along.
The track is at 120 bpm.

Thank-you very much for your input Tony.
I envisaged very similar themes to yours and so it's wonderful to hear that it was at least sufficient to hook your imagination.
Thank-you again!

Thanks for the welcome and for your feedback Tom.
As of now I only have access to headphones for reference mixing. That will soon change once I decide on a good set of reference monitors but I'm glad to hear it sounds ok.

Thank-you fusilierb.
I agree wholeheartedly with you regarding the climax.
I can 'hear' the climax but I'm struggling a little to make it work.
Rob (Cruciform) suggested some pads might help build the tension.
So far his advice has been priceless!

As an aside, this seems to be a very friendly forum. There are some shockers out there to be sure and I'm very grateful for the welcome.

It really does sound good. I'm going to have a go at adding some big drums, but don't wait for me. :)
