Instrumental: yes or no?

Post by mladendomic » Wed Nov 28, 2012 3:35 pm

Dear Passengers,

Below is a special opportunity that we wanted to give you a heads up about. We need your music by Thursday, December 6, 2012, 12:30PM PST. You can find this listing under the Electronic genre in the Submit Music section of your TAXImusic.com hosting site.

TOP TIER MUSIC SUPERVISOR needs ELECTRO and INDIE ELECTRO POP Songs and Instrumentals for a **MAJOR** FEATURE FILM. Specifically, they're looking for MID-to-UPTEMPO pieces that blend CONTEMPORARY INDIE ELECTRO production with a RETRO NEW WAVE vibe like:

"At Home" by Crystal Fighters - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruakMoSvVsY

"On Top Of The World" by Imagine Dragons - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCVrC7Dg2qo (listen from 1:34 onward)

QUOTING THE SOURCE: "We're looking for OPTIMISTIC and UPBEAT but not overly sunshiny or cheesy. Something with a COOL sound that combines analog AND electro elements in a CONTEMPORARY way." MALE and/or FEMALE vocals are BOTH OK. Duets and group vocals are a plus. Instrumentals will also be considered but be careful that they don't sound too '80s and dated. Instrumentals with non-lyrical vocals/group vocals are also OK.

As always, please don't copy or rip-off the referenced artists or their music in any way. They're provided only as an example of tone, tempo and vibe. It's IMPORTANT that your piece sounds like a real ARTIST and NOT like a production music library track. This is a very high bar listing as this music supervisor is extremely selective. The estimated fee for this license is $5,000. This is DIRECT-to-SUPERVISOR so you keep 100%. You will NOT give up ANY of your sync fee, publishing or writer's share! You must own or control 100% of BOTH the Master AND Composition rights to submit for this listing. No covers! Instrumentals are not needed at this time. Broadcast Quality on par with the referenced artists is needed (excellent home recordings are fine.) All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS by a TAXI screener hand-picked by the music supervisor. ALL submissions must be received no later than Thursday, December 6, 2012, 12:30PM PST. TAXI sent an email clarifying that "instrumentals are not needed at this time" means instrumental versions of the submissions w/ vocals.
