Just to add to a few things the authors didn't see on that review. GB has a count off feature so you don't really need to program a click as they suggested.

Also, while the regular track compressor doesn't show how much of the audio is being compressed, the AU Dynamic Processor does.

I'm using Garageband, I joined last fall and I've had 4 forwards - no deals yet. So it's good enough to get music forwarded. But, as soon as I can afford it I'll move on to Logic.
