Is no news good news?

Post by Cabbie » Mon Jun 08, 2015 9:44 am

I signed up for Taxi last month and made my first submission. It says I should expect a response in 10-30 days. It's been just over 30 days now. Is no news good news? thanks

Hey Cabbie, no news is simply no news. Sometimes Taxi runs a bit long on the screening - and results - process. Just depends on how busy they are, and how many submissions there were for each listing.

Hey Cabbie,

Matt is accurate about this. No news means that it could be there were A LOT of submissions, the screeners' schedule is difficult to work with, or any number of reasons. In regards to this particular listing, there are a couple things going on here:

1. We actually moved the deadline to the 11th, because we wanted to give people more time to submit to this listing.

2. Even though it doesn't say in the listing, this particular one is a "Screener Specific" listing. That means that there is only one person screening this particular listing, thus the completion of this listing solely relies on their schedule (we can only do so much when it comes to screener specific schedules).

3. There were quite a few submissions to this listing, and since this is screener specific (and we want to make sure this screener listens carefully to EVERY song submitted) it's taking a little longer than expected.

You should hear back about your submission by this week. If you don't, please give us a call at 818-222-2464 and we will double check what's going on. Also, feel free to e-mail me at gabe@taxi.com if you have any questions.
Best Regards,

Hi Cabbie, and welcome to Taxi.

The Taxi mantra has become ... "write, submit, forget" and repeat.

Good luck, Jim

Jim, is correct.

The best thing is to stay busy and not think about it. If you're sitting there worrying and wondering, you're wasting time. Keep working on writing your next hit and don't worry about your submissions.

Over the years with Taxi, I wonder how much things have changed as far as number of submissions to a listing? Are we talking hundreds of submissions for something like the "feel good" tracks? I would assume there are many more Taxi members now than 10 years ago... ??

One good thing about getting older is the "forget" part just comes naturally. :P ;)
