TonyI wouldn't say your songs do not have potential. Recorded right as modern rock, pop, or punk, they could have film/TV marketability. Some re-writing of the songs themselves may be required too- but some of the songs have a good basis to work from. Remember that rock acts almost always write their own songs so film/TV is where you wanna go.That being said, you've got a very long mountain to climb as far as producing anything in your home studio that is what's referred to as "master quality", the quality needed for film/TV. It would probably take you years of learning and a few thousand dollars to get where you need to be. I don't know your budget, but here are some steps you might take:(1) Send some songs to a pro-critique service such as John Braheny's or Jason Blume's. They are perfectly OK with reviewing the song, not the production. Use the feedback to tweak the songs. Maybe focus on your 1-2 best songs. I believe it's $25 per critique. (Also, you can post songs with lyrics here for free feedback on this forum. Many here will be happy to help. Start with what you think is your best and reciprocate!).(2) Once you have a song where you want it, use an outside demo service to produce a professional, master quality demo. This is not inexpensive, could be in the $500-$850 range for a good rock demo. (Got a Christmas or Birthday present coming?)(3) Send the demo to a few publishers and libraries who take open submissions. See if you get any feedback or interest.(4) If this goes well and you can afford it, do more songs. When you've built up a catalog of at least 6-8 songs, TAXI might be OK, but the fewer songs you have, the fewer opps for forwards you will have. Tony, I am a non-performing rock songwriter who has pro-demos made by a great service. If you ever heard how bad my initial home recordings of just me and my guitar are (a few friends here have) and then heard the pro-demos, you'd be amazed. I have now had some artist cuts and indie film placements (nothing to get rich on, but placements, nevertheless). This place is the place to get a lot of help from other struggling musicians and songwriters. So don't get discouraged, use the feedback, and maybe there are placements in your future!Just let me (and the rest of us) how we can help... Casey
