Ern, I hope you didn't think I was sayin' you ripped it off. I agree it's just those first few notes. Funny thing is Bruce starts one of his verses with "Way back in the Bible.....". It may be the combination of those few notes and those few words that triggered the A&R guy's response. I think your song's guitar riff and general feel are far removed from Bruce's song. I like your sound and lyrics much better. Dave

I'll admit I'm a big Springsteen fan, especially his earlier stuff, so maybe it was a subconscious thing. What song of his has the lyric "Way back in the Bible?" It's on the tip of my little pea-brain, but I can't think of it!Thanks in advance,Ern

Ern,The song is Pink Cadillac. The first verse starts "You might think I'm foolish....", I think it's the second verse that starts out with"Way back in the Bible, temptations always come along...." I might have the order of the verses wrong but I know it's in that song somewhere. You got me wonderin'. I'm goin' to google it! Dave

Dave Yea, Dave, I thought that was how the lyric went (something about "temptations"), but I couldn't get the connection to a "car song." I guess they call that "poetic license." But about 50% of Bruce's songs have some connection to cars and the Bible. Best Regards,Ern

I found Bruce on youtube with pink cadillac. It's the second verse.

I'm sorry to have be the one to tell you Ern,but this is a blatant rip off!Well, the first ten seconds are anyway. Here's the proof:I rest my case! After that, I just hear an original track! Dave.

Um, yeah, I think your A&R guy's a nimrod. Maybe a rich and successful nimrod, but all the same.....yeh, I hear a superficial resemblance to the first line of Pink Cadillac, but it could be considered a reference or homage since your song also has a vehicular theme; in other words, I wouldn't worry about the P-word.
