Is this porn tune quirky enough?
I'm wondering if you think this tune fits the listing below? It's a fun instrumental (at least playing it was!)...but I don't know if it has enough "Quirk". Would you spend my $5 on it? The listing has a critique included, so I guess that will be valuable even if the song is deemed a bit off target at the screening phase.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=1QUIRKY AND FUN INSTRUMENTALS in a variety of styles are needed by an East Coast Music Library/Publisher who has signed and placed dozens of TAXI songs over the past several years. He's looking for left of center, unusual but accessible instrumental selections for a variety of TV projects. While he's looking for a unique sound, he's not interested in a dissonant tone overall. Tracks that are spare are just fine, as long as the mood is bright and fun. Instrumentation is open and arrangement can be explored liberally, but the tracks should be between 1:00 and 3:00 long. If he likes your track and is interested in offering a deal, he may also request :30 and :60 edits. He requests that your pieces have clear endings, no fadeouts. Excellent performances are necessary and the sound quality should be great. Broadcast quality is required [excellent-sounding home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than July 9, 2008.TAXI # S080709IN

Hey Devin, this is cool & I like it a lot & I think that the sound quality is there but not sure if it fits the "fun, quirky left of center" description in the listing. But don't let that stop you from giving it a shot, I'm wrong waaaaay more that I'm right.

Devin,Agreed. Nice tune...well produced...fun...energetic...BUT, for what you're calling a "porn tune", for a listing that specifies "quirky" and "left-of-center" as guidelines, this strikes me a neither. My first gut reaction was: "this is about as M.O.R. as it can get." I swear I don't mean to offend (and hope I haven't).I've spent the $5 just for the sake of the critique more than once, but I can't help but think that'll be the most you can expect for the investment. Again, terrific tune. I just think it's off-target.I guess I just could've said that, huh? My $.02, and nothing more.

I liked your tune! It's very energetic, but I don't think it's quirky enough. I get a more college teen movie vibe from this one.

Thanks for all your thoughts gang...it's great to get your thoughts on this one. It was written/recorded without a listing as a target, so it might just sit idle in reserve.Jun 30, 2008, 3:08pm, tedsingingfox wrote: My first gut reaction was: "this is about as M.O.R. as it can get." But on to the actual topic, yeah It seemed a little too grounded for "quirky" I would classify it more as "funky" with a dash of rock.

But....but.......I thought you were a Dr. Pepper junky. And no, you can't have my M&Ms! And if you want attention around here you gotta have at least 4 octaves and a sexy avatar. Sorry! I don't qualify either.
