It's Not Impossible. What Genre?

Post by cameron » Sat Apr 04, 2009 3:46 pm

Hi gang,Just finished up my work tape of this. It started out to be sort of a Jack Johnson adult contemporary piece, but my love for gospel and R&B sort of got in the way. If anyone can tell me of an artist this might fit I'd love to know who.Although this is a work tape for a later demo, any comments on the mix etc. are appreciated too. If there's no commercial appeal the work tape just might be the only demo I do.ThanksCamhttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=225921&stream=trueor on my Taxi page at http://taxi.com/cearnshaw It's Not ImpossibleYou could be happy with a guy like me yeaha little effort and I think you'll see itEverytime I've run into youYou're kinda shy but I think I seecould be a girl like you needs a guy like meYou're holding back and I don't know whydon't let this moment pass us by All you have to do is tryit's not impossibleDon't mean to scare you with my silly dreamsLet's pull you out of your old routinesI heard that you've been asking about meMaybe you think that I just don't careBut you just say the word and baby I'll be thereThere's something there we can't deny don't let this moment pass us byAll you have to do is tryit's not impossibleWords and MusicCopyright 2009by Cameron Earnshaw

hi, cam, great to hear from you again! so i'm not a huge fan of the style, but it does groove and makes you tap your toes! and i love your piano playing, of course - always do. i guess it totally depends on your goal for this song, but my biggest issue is the hook...it just doesn't seem strong enough. "impossible" just conjures up different images for me, images i'd like to see in your song, and the rest of the song just doesn't seem to support such a weighty word. but then again, that's totally my opinion. erin

Hi CamI hear a Jimmy Buffet song in there... It's got that kind of grove... Could make a good retro track in that style... Casey
