Just pulled the trigger on Komplete 9 standard. Gotta do it. No way around it.

Exactly! I started out with 4 & then upgraded to 8. Both are on my computer & will remain after I install 9.

I hope Komplete 9 has a better strategy for its initial software build and launch. Even though I had the v8 USB drive it DID NOT contain all of the product releases AND alot of download upgrades via NI Service Center.

Not only was it a bit annoying but it also resulted in more installation and configuration that it should have. I think they sent me a few t-shirts for being a long-term customer so that made it all worthwhile.... ;)

Great products...

Literally the day before NI K9 was released, I had installed NI K8 Ultimate.

I haven't recorded anything with it yet, so I'm wondering if I should just upgrade to K9 Ultimate now.

I can't really see what K9 Ultimate offers that K8 Ultimate does not. however. There is no longer a webpage so I guess I'll have to look at my stuff at home to compare. Presumably with Ultimate, I already have more than just K8 has, so it wouldn't make sense to upgrade to K9. I'm not sure that is even an option.

Wen:

There's a huge difference between 8 and 9.

Action Strings
Session Horns
New synths
New effects and so on..

kontakt 5 was in 8.

I dont own any komplete but the one thing that caught my eye was the 2 new reverbs modeled on the lex 224 and 480 in ultimate.... to me that is the highlight.

For me Session Horns & Action Strings are a big draw. Battery 3 has been long in the tooth for quite a while now but the sheer number of high quality samples has kept me coming back, so I'm really excited about this new version.

GEAR LUST :!: :!: :!: :ugeek:
