NEW LISTING -- POP/URBAN INSTRUMENTALS (with a piano, string, synth-driven sound) a la "Energy" by Keri Hilson, "Be Without You" by Mary J. Blige, "Right Here" by Brandy, "Halo" by Beyonce, etc., needed immediately for an artist recently signed to a production development deal. This artist is working with two established producers who have combined credits of working with Michael Jackson, Jay-Z, Eminem, Ne-Yo, Mary J. Blige, Brandy, Keyshia Cole, Bill Withers, Maroon 5 and more. Tracks should be piano-driven, organic and soulful, while following pop song form/structure. Huge choruses are a must! Instrumentals only please! Tracks should be well produced, mixed and "radio ready (excellent home recordings are fine as long as quality is there). Please submit one to three instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Friday, September 10, 2010.

Listings like this have always confused me. They say instrumental, but give vocal examples. So does this mean send tracks with no melody or reference melody and an artist will sing their own melody over my tracks?
Or does this mean send a complete song with verse and chorus melody and an artist will add lyrics to my melody? If this were the case they would need two tracks, one with my reference melody to learn the song and another one with out the reference to use for their recording of the melody and lyrics.

Re: Just Tracks or with Melody?
Hi John.....my best guess is to give them a song similar to the alas in instrumentation, drive , feel , arrangement etc. without a melody.....those guys sound like they know how to place melodies into well constucted arrangement of chords and structure...or maybe ask a Taxi Staff person if they can help with the clarity of the listing...good luck John

Listen to the instrumentals in the a las and do that. They are basically looking for an instrumental for the artist to sing/write over.johnclavin wrote:NEW LISTING -- POP/URBAN INSTRUMENTALS (with a piano, string, synth-driven sound) a la "Energy" by Keri Hilson, "Be Without You" by Mary J.
