Latin forwards
Well, I submitted five tunes for the S080201LA listing below:A range of great LATIN MUSIC INSTRUMENTALS (no vocals) are needed by a U.K.-based Music Library/Publishing Co. for TV placement. This company ran numerous TAXI listings in 2006 (and signed many TAXI songs) and is now in need of more great material as their service has become very much in demand. Traditional and contemporary styles are OK. Music from South America is especially sought for this listing (Brazilian, Peruvian, etc.). They don't want tracks that sound like they were obviously MIDI generated - authenticity and great performances are the keys. Both instrumentals with lead melody lines and basic backing tracks that serve as "soundbeds" are OK - they want both. All tempos are OK. Track length should be in the 1:00 - 3:00 range. At this point they work mostly with prominent U.K. TV channels such as the BBC and ITV, but also supply music to other production companies that broadcast worldwide. They offer non-exclusive, 50/50 deals. PLEASE NOTE: If you've been forwarded for D071024CB (Caribbean), please do not submit the same material here. Broadcast quality needed [great sounding home recordings are OK].All five were forwarded. They all received very solid reviews, and I've already thanked the reviewers. They will all be on my next CD. Here are the tunes:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... tream=1and one additional tune that received good reviews and forwarded for another listing:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... &stream=1I invite all forum members to listen, and I welcome any feedback. The last couple of months have been good for me. I've had 8 out of 11 submissions forwarded. It would appear either my songwriting chops are improving, or I'm tailoring my submissions to the listings better. Either way, its a good thing. Thanks TAXI!Frank V.

Re: Latin forwards
Frank, I only have one word: WOW!!! I do have a question: I thought they were asking for originals. I didn`t know you could submit a song by another author. Wouldnt that be a problem?

Re: Latin forwards
Brindabella, Thanks for the kind words. With the exception of "Obsesion", they are all my originals ("Brisas Del Caribe" is an adaptation of Chopin's Waltz Opus 64 No 2 - long in the public domain). I'm not sure with regards to covers. Sometimes, the listing specifies covers, other times it doesn't. If it's a problem, we'll see. Of course, when I release my CD, the song will be registered with HFA (Harry Fox Agency). I have another cover I've submitted for another listing, "I Heard The Bells", which is a Johnny Marks rendition of the hymn "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. That is on my debut CD, "South Beach" and registered with HFA as well. You can hear it here:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... ream=1I'll be checking out some of your songs as well. Thanks again for your feedback...Frank V.

Re: Latin forwards
Jamie, Thanks for the compliments and kind words. I had hoped to release my CD "Virtual Latin Jazz" by now...but work got in the way (I'm a Software Engineer by trade), and I've been schleppin' back and forth to Charlotte NC for the past 7 weeks...argh! Nevertheless, I hope to release it within the next month or two. I'll keep you posted. I went to your site...very nice. You are a gifted songwriter! I liked "Follow Your Bliss" and "You've Already Won". I've also requested you as a "friend". American Idol...wow! Congrats on your song being on the compilation CD! Looks like you've got some successes under your belt...here's to many more!Frank V.

Re: Latin forwards
Yo, dabresk...Thanks for the comp's. An SE, huh? What platform do you work on (or does that matter anymore)? I've been in the biz for about 25+ years now. Its a great living, and I do enjoy it. Too bad I can't blend the two - i.e. music & IT. I love music, arranging, composing & performing - but making a living at it is extremely difficult. I get paid more in a couple of hours as an SE than I do the entire evening as a musician...sad, really. Anyway, I'll check out your songs...and I'll keep you posted when the CD is released. Take care...Frank V.
