Re: Latino groove -- just a try
Hello !Honestly I'm not totally up to speed with Latino tracks, but I do see were this tune has some hints of Latino flare. I think the tune is pretty catchy, I like it. Especially the drum tracks are very tight and again I think the hooks are really catchy. If I did this I would submit it to a latino instrumental listing to see what they would say but I also think it could work for video game instrumentals as well.Again nice job !

Re: Latino groove -- just a try
Hey G,it's a good start. The thing that I always think when doing tracks with electronic drums is, if you're going for an electronic sound then make it sound *really* electronic, if you're going for a more organic groove then you need to work hard to make those drums sound as natural as possible. I feel the drum sounds in this track are right in the middle. They're obviously electronic but it *feels* like you were going for a more natural drum sound so it sounds fake, especially in the fills. If you're going for an electronic sound then go all out and make it really pump. As Jay said, a little percussion will add a lot. The mixture of the electronic drums with more natural sounding percussion will add another layer of texture to the track. I feel this track going in the direction of Kinky or The Northern Collective. If you haven't had a chance to check them out, play the samples on iTunes for a taste of what that sounds like, I think with very minor adjustments your track can get to that level. The groove and the melodic aspects are there, all it needs, IMHO, is a more clear direction on the style of the drums. We do get listings asking for music ala Kinky and Northern Collective from time to time so I'd say keep working on it.HTHAntonio

Do you have it loaded somewhere else? For some reason I cant hear it at soundclick.

Re: Latino groove -- just a try
Hey G!Nice track... I liked the overall flow of it. I would also agree with Antonio about the drum sounds -- and I would say go for an electronic drum sound with natural timbale/tom fills... it's a great spin on the genre that I don't think will get you in any (or at least much) trouble. Also... I think you should work on EQing the individual tracks (and maybe some compression) and remixing as the piece gets a little muddy with competing freqs. But you've got a good bed here... just needs a little touch up. Cheers!

I think you got enough advice about the technical part. I know nothing of the sort. Yup! Latino groove is a good title. Me likes!

I'll second (or third!) the comment on needing some additional percussion . . . conga drums would be nice . . .
