Offbeat, not in the mainstream. A bit artsy or Bohemian.

Politically speaking, it means that you think more with your heart than with your bank account when it comes to government policies. You'd probably be voting for the NDP or the Green Party in Canada and I think that it would probably make you a democrat in the USA. I think the Republicans are considered more right wing.

Yes, you definately aren't thinking with your brain when you are left of center. (and the onslaught begins.....)

I'm a 'left of center' Southerner. Which is a helluva hard thing to be in 'Bama.

I suspect it's more of the first explanation, offbeat rather than liberal. Naturally I asked because I don't know, but that makes more sense in the context of these listings.

It seems you get more radio play when you're left of center
It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere

Quote:Yes, you definately aren't thinking with your brain when you are left of center. (and the onslaught begins.....)I wasn't saying one side was more important than the other. Ideally, policies should meet somewhere in the center. Big business is important but so is the environment and the needs of the less fortunate and the average person in society. The very wealthy don't want to have their pockets picked to pay for them to have anything. Unfortunately, most decisions regarding government policy are made based on how much money it makes for the wealthiest corporations. Citizens would revolt if they knew how far down in the pecking order they really are after the big banks and corporations. The biggest banks and corporations have all the money and they control all the positions of decision making importance within the government. They own all the mainstream media and you seem to be thinking just the way they want you to. If you really think that Compassion = Brainless, then you have been successfully brainwashed, IMHO.

Re: "left of center"
The media is anything BUT controlled by those that think like me. I'm as anti media as you can get. But if you equate wealth with not being compassionate, then I think you are the one being brainwashed. That's exactly what the "media" say as well. I think as musicians, we need to be careful that we don't seem hypocritical. Writing and singing about about the corporate "games", yet striving with all our might to "make it" and become part of it.
