Listener 287 RE: Lyric Comments Are Perplexing

Dear Listener #287:This is in regards to my submission to listing S081006PR. The listing says, "There are no lyric restrictions" yet your driving emphasis for rejecting my submission was the lyrical content. In the end, you mentioned that the listing company is very picky and looking for songs for all age groups. Again, this is not mentioned in the listing. Please make sure TAXI communicates these things more clearly in the listings so that there's a greater consciousness on what the target is.

Yeah I feel you dude.I was rejected once because of less than broadcast quality (he was SO READY to forward it but the listing--one of those instrumental listings--asked for broadcast quality...But then I get those returns criticizing me for "your vocals were too loud for the track," and I remember reading once where "They're not looking for master recordings. They're looking for GREAT SONGS!" and it leaves me scratching my head thinking, "Make up your mind already!"Music is a subjective biz guess we both gotta keep plugging SOMEDAY one of us, maybe both of us, will hit it and the variables will be aligned just right...Till then... S--- happens.

Sounds like to me that both of the listings and your submissions just didn't jive. Doesn't mean they were not quality, just not up to what they wanted at that time. It's a hell of a lesson that we all can keep and use. Read the submission all of it and submit according to it.If it says broadcast quality it's gonna take a studio to get there and these are the ones i stay away from because broadcast quality is really a high mark for me. What the hell am I saying! First rung of the ladder is a bitch for me to reach! lolNo kidding, i'd bet if you each really listened again to your work, after reading the submittal you'd find corrections to make and if you just listened to your work you find the same. This doesn't mean it's not good or great work but their have high bars on a lot of submittals and unless you are a performing artist or a "musician" not an instrument player but a real musician, you're gonna need help with the final product to get to broadcast quality in many cases.Be cool, be safe, send money. Hope you all make it big and start adopting older children? I'm 57.Doc
