Listening to Forwards

Post by rikijava » Sat Apr 11, 2009 4:49 am

Why can't we hear what Taxi Forwards? What better way to learn than to hear what was forwarded? Not some generic excerpt taxi points us to, but the specific style the listing was asking for. I answer a listing Taxi says no. Fine. Let me hear what Taxi said yes to. Then I'll begin to understand where I went wrong.

If you go to the Forwards section, you will hear the songs that were forwarded to a particular listing.

this answer was already given to you on this thread:http://taxi.proboards.com/index.cgi?boa ... 11666where you posted:Apr 10, 2009, 2:06pm, rikijava wrote:Romantic Comedy is a very good example of why Taxi should post what it forwarded to the client. A professional composer/songwriter needs to balance what he feels is good to what the client believes they need. There's been a lot of discussion about this on the forum. If I remember correctly, it finally came down to: It's up to the members themselves if they want to post a forwarded track. Some members don't want their music automatically posted on the TAXI website and it also may bring up some legal issues for TAXI. So it's not going to happen automatically.I've seen threads before that requested folks to post their forwards such as: "Who was forwarded to the Romantic Comedy listing?". You might get some volunteers that way.The bottom line is, the research should be done on the a las and if it's a broad genre such as romantic comedy with no a las listed, then you have to take your best shot. I'm not sure how many requests you've seen outside of TAXI listings but in comparison, TAXI listings are most generous with their details. It has to be voluntary. I cannot insist that another composer post their work publicly or allow me to hear their forwarded music. Plenty of people do share, and I'm grateful to them for permitting me to learn from their example. I trust that answers your question(s). You can use this forum as a resource by posting the listing, the lyrics, the complete critique, and a link to the song in Peer to Peer & ask us for help in determining how you could be more successful next time.
