For me it is pure cynicism, lol! When it was revealed the NSA secretly accessed everyone's info and stores it, and most internet companies give them backdoor access, I figured I shouldn't ever need to fill out a government form of any kind, they already have my info. But then around the same time Missouri, even though I've had a driver's license from them for nearly all my driving life and paid taxes as well, decided we, for the first time needed a birth certificate, and I can understand for me was made even more difficult because the first year of my life I was a California citizen, lol! Oh, right, it was for my protection, to ensure I wasn't a terrorist, I forgot. If I'm ever famous and pass away, I hope cable news never speculates as to how I got radicalized, lol!
Okay, maybe I'm not cynical but philosophical, lol!“To put it still more plainly: the desire for security and the feeling of insecurity are the same thing. To hold your breath is to lose your breath. A society based on the quest for security is nothing but a breath-retention contest in which everyone is as taut as a drum and as purple as a beet.”
