Logic, Garage Band gurus?

Post by elser » Mon Apr 14, 2008 3:06 pm

I wonder if anyone has done this. I own both Logic Studio and Garage Band. Logic comes with several Jam Packs, which can be bought separately and installed in Garage Band. I'm trying to find the files and folders which comprise the content on the Orchestral Jam Pack and copy them manually from Logic into Garage Band. Does anyone know which files and folders they are and where they go?I don't think there's any legal issue since I own the material via my Logic purchase. I'm just missing the Jam Pack installer application so I have to do it manually. Not holding out much hope on this, but maybe someone knows?Elser

Hi ElserDouble click on your hard drive icon, then open the "Library" folder, then the "Application Support" folder. You'll find all your instrument folders in there. I assume you just drag the stuff from your Logic folder and place it in the Garage band folder, although I'm not really sure of exactly which sub folder to place your jam packs in. Perhaps the "Instrument Library" folder. Take care to write down where everything came from and where you put it so that, if it doesn't work, you will be able to put everything back where it came from! I hope this helps.mewman

Hey mewman, ya, I got as far as the instruments folder in Library/Application Support/Garage Band but after that is where it gets fuzzy. Well I've gotta go out of town for two weeks so I guess I'll just deal with it when I get back. Thanks for your input.Elser
