Logic X Pro - Default Channel Strip Settings?

I'm trying to find where to set the defaults for the Channel Strip. Every project I start I have to deselect several items to save screen real estate. I usually remove Audio Device Controls, Setting Menu, Gain Reduction Meter, Group, Automation, Track Icon, etc, then change the description line from 1 to 2 lines. I can't find where to set my preferred preferences as a default so I don't have to do this with every project.

Anyone know how to do this? I've googled, can't find the answer.

Paulie, I believe the key word is Template

I'm with len on this one. Make yourself a nice template.
If i'm not mistaken it is file>save as template.

Templates are simple... I was hoping to find a default file so that I start out with things the way I want. I guess I can make a template then make that my default open file, right?

My understanding that a template file is basically just a regular project file that is stored as a template to make it easier to find, like in a separate folder, and more highlighted than a regular file that you might forget the name and have to dig through all the project files.

For some tasks, you might enjoy Tracktion 6; tracks are 'born' with pan/level controls and that's all-you add what you need. Tracks don't have to be MIDI or audio, both can coexist in the same track, if need be, though I don't know why anyone would need it. The cool thing is, you can bus any track to any other track so submixing and side-chaining are built in. It's very fast; start with 8 tracks, add more as needed. Plugins can be dragged and dropped on a track OR a clip, and tracks are limited only by what your system can handle.

Logic's big advantage is all the built-in instruments and effects, but all of those will also work in Tracktion, which is much, much simpler to operate; you do a plugin scan and all your AU stuff shows up. Bonus, you can also use VSTs. The price is pretty sweet, too. (and if you're deep on Logic's key commands and shortcuts, T6 can learn those, though I'm sure somebody has done that donkeywork for you, already)
